Natural Running Non-Resident Running Camp
Description
The cost is per athlete. This a four-day running clinic for up to 15 youth athletes at a time. Hours are tentatively 7:30am to 1pm each day. The running clinic is geared for youth athletes of all sports as running is a significant part of every sport. For each athlete that is a paid attendee one parent, guardian, or coach may participate if desired. I can take up to a maximum of five adults so first come, first served.
Athletes should wear whatever running shoes they are comfortable in but there WILL be time spent barefoot. PARTICIPANTS SHOULD BE ABLE TO RUN AT LEAST A MILE TO GET THE MOST OUT OF THIS CAMP.
Examples of what Coach D will discuss and demonstrate are:
– The history of natural running
– The reason natural running is important to health and sports performance
– Species-specific adaptations for natural running
– How natural running affects the structures of the foot and lower leg
– What types of footwear allow the natural running process
– How natural running can repair or prevent issues like plantar fasciitis
– Natural running technique with progressions
– How to train to regain natural running ability
– Basic and advanced natural running drills
– The importance of proper nutrition and recovery for natural running athletes.
– Any specific concerns or questions clients might have about natural running
In addition to instruction and discussion, a warm-up, intermediate-level workout, a game, and stretching session are included with each day.
